Boston Turns Back The Clock With An Athletic Game 1 Win
Kevin Garnett led his team in scoring for a second consecutive game as The Celtics squeezed out a 92-91 victory against The 76ers Saturday night in Boston.
Despite holding a lead throughout the entire first half, as the game wound down Philadelphia found themselves awash in a sea of green and white jerseys swatting down balls, blocking lanes and just playing bigger than the young 76ers could muster in crunch time. The Celtics pulled away in the final three minutes of the game with stout defense, speed down the court and Garnett’s hot shooting hand.
Boston point guard Rajon Rondo posted a triple-double and five Celtics scored in double-digits for an impressive team win versus a very fast and fired up 76ers crew.
Game 2 kicks off in Boston Monday night at 7 ET.
